The Furry Family of Leaps n' Hounds

Crystal and her husband, Jason, live in Spring, Tx with their seven furry children.

Lyla

Lyla says Hi
Gentle, affectionate and capable of wagging her entire body so hard that her tail smacks her in the face, Lyla was adopted from the Humane Society (TX) in 2006. Open for tummy rubs 24/7, she is possibly the laziest Shepherd/Rottweiler mix in history. Impossible not to like and always gentle, she is a great training assistant and often helps with rehabilitating timid, over-protective, and aggressive dogs.

Jack

Jack kisses
Affectionately nicknamed "The Mountain Goat" for his ability to climb and balance on anything, Jack is a natural agility dog and has two speeds: fast and licking your face. From what we can gather, he is a short-haired Border Collie mix. He was adopted from SMART Rescue in 2007 and often makes appearances at various events offering kisses for charity.

Mo(Hawk)

Mo with treat
The envy of many punk rockers, Mo is a Ridgeback mix and earned his name based on the natural ridge that sticks up about an inch off his back. Rescued straight off the street in 2007, Mo won our hearts instantly and became our very unexpected third dog. With Heart Worms and a variety of other ailments that would have killed him, Mo is about 4 years old now and fully recovered. He now spreads his Marmaduke-like charm visiting the elderly at local assisted living communities and often accompanies us on road trips. Mo recently became an official Healing Species dog and visits schools to assist in teaching children compassion, empathy, and how to solve violence with non-violence. Yeah, we're pretty proud of him.

Our Feline Posse

16 paws
Ripley, Olive, Titus, & Beito were also adopted through various rescue organizations. Don't let the fact that they are cats fool you. Just like the dogs, our cats are expected to carry their own weight around the house too. Ripley fetches and rings the bells to go out to the patio. Titus also rings the bells, sits, shakes and will do just about anything for a treat. Beito, the youngest at 6 months, comes when called, sits, rolls over, and travels in a kitty back pack. And Olive...well, Olive spends most of her time cooling her belly in the bathtub or sunning in the window. She's very smart though - she just hides it well.
